The Blue Jays’ offence has been struggling all season, allowing little-known Tyler Alexander to nearly throw a perfect game against them until the eighth inning. Despite a late rally, the Jays fell short and took a 4-3 loss to the Rays at Rogers Centre.
Alexander, who only had five innings under his belt this season, managed to keep the Jays hitless for most of the game. Chris Bassitt pitched well for the Jays but was let down by the lack of run support, a common theme for the team's pitchers this season.
