Over five seasons, he has a record of 195-205, leading the Bulls to the playoffs once in 2022. The Bulls have struggled in the past two seasons, finishing at 39-43 and securing the 9th seed in the Eastern Conference. With a shift toward a younger roster after trading away stars Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan, the Bulls have decided Donovan remains the right leader to guide this transition. Despite interest from other teams, including the New York Knicks, Donovan chose to stay in Chicago. He is now tied as the third-longest tenured coach in the NBA, demonstrating stability amid a rapidly changing league.
