The Golden State Warriors kicked off their California Classic Summer League with an opener against the Los Angeles Lakers, but rookie picks Alex Toohey and Will Richard were absent. Both players, selected in the second round of the 2025 NBA Draft, could not participate due to their trades being unofficial. The Warriors traded their No. 41 pick to the Phoenix Suns, subsequently using the No. 52 pick to draft Toohey from Australia, and the No. 56 pick for Richard from Florida after trading up with the Memphis Grizzlies. The Warriors are set to play three games in total before heading to Las Vegas for the Summer League.
