Rocco Zikarsky is transitioning to the NBA via a two-way deal with Minnesota, splitting time between the Timberwolves and Iowa Wolves as he develops after two seasons in the NBL. The 7-foot-0 forward with a 7-foot-6 wingspan is learning the speed, physicality and concepts of the pro game while focusing on conditioning and rebounding to complement his defensive length.

Through four preseason games he’s averaging 3.7 points and four rebounds on 40% shooting, with most minutes logged except when a broken nose sidelined him briefly after a practice collision with Jaden McDaniels. Minnesota envisions growth behind Gobert and Reid, using live reps in practices and the G League to accelerate his path.

As he acclimates to the Wolves’ system, Zikarsky’s ability to protect the rim, pursue second-chance opportunities and become more active off the ball will determine his eventual role. The combination of development time and a high-upside frame keeps him in the fantasy spotlight for deeper leagues this season.
