Fred VanVleet has taken on the role of president of the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) after being elected during the board of player representatives meeting. With a four-year term ahead of him, VanVleet succeeds CJ McCollum, who held the position for four years and will move into an advisory role. VanVleet, recognized for signing a record-breaking contract as an undrafted player, also played a crucial part in leading the Houston Rockets to the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference playoffs this past season, averaging 14.1 points, 5.6 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game.
