This injury, which he sustained during a game against the Denver Nuggets back on March 10, did not stop him from playing a crucial role in the Thunder’s historic championship run. Despite the injury, he averaged 21.4 points per game in the finals, highlighted by a 40-point performance in Game 5 against the Indiana Pacers.

General Manager Sam Presti praised Williams' mental toughness, noting that he never used his injury as an excuse for poor performance during the playoffs, even when he struggled with his shooting percentage. Williams, who is 24 years old, is also eligible for a lucrative contract extension this offseason, with potential earnings reaching up to $296 million over five years.
