The Portland Trail Blazers made a quick decision to recall center Duop Reath shortly after assigning him to their G League affiliate, the Rip City Remix. In addition to Reath, guard/forward Rayan Rupert was also recalled. Rupert has maintained strong performance in the G League, averaging 15.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.7 blocks over his three appearances this season. Meanwhile, Reath has seen limited action in the NBA, averaging just 2.2 points in 5.6 minutes across 23 games this season.

With a crowded frontcourt including Deandre Ayton and Robert Williams III, Reath's opportunities with the Blazers have been scarce. He had hoped for more minutes in the G League to refine his skills. The Trail Blazers are set to face the Phoenix Suns next, although it seems unlikely Reath will see playing time unless the game situation allows for extensive rotation.
