The Washington Commanders have announced they will retire Art Monk's iconic No. 81 jersey on November 2. Monk, a first-round pick in 1980, played an impressive 14 seasons with the franchise, becoming a beloved figure and an all-time great in the NFL.

This significant honor will take place during a game against the Seattle Seahawks, where the team will also unveil its new throwback uniforms reminiscent of Monk's earlier days. He was a pioneer in the passing game and held the record for most receptions in a single season with 106 catches until 1995.

In total, Monk will join five other legends whose numbers have been retired by the franchise: Sammy Baugh, Bobby Mitchell, Darrell Green, Sonny Jurgensen, and Sean Taylor. As the game draws near, fans are excited to celebrate Monk's legacy and the Commanders' history.
