Hockey Canada's preparation for the 2026 Winter Olympics is in full swing, with the announcement of the first six players selected for the roster. Leading the charge are NHL superstars Connor McDavid and Sidney Crosby, both of whom bring extensive international experience and skill to the team. McDavid, fresh off another stellar season with the Edmonton Oilers, is looking to further solidify his legacy on the global stage. Crosby, a stalwart for Canada, returns for his third Olympic appearance, aiming for another gold medal after previous victories in 2010 and 2014.

Joining them are Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar from the Colorado Avalanche. MacKinnon led all scorers at a recent tournament, while Makar recently secured his second Norris Trophy.
