This season, Middleton has played 10 games for the Avalanche, maintaining a plus-1 rating but has yet to score any points. In addition to his NHL appearances, he has contributed four assists in 16 games with the Colorado Eagles in the AHL.

Standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 240 pounds, Middleton was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the fourth round of the 2016 NHL Draft. Despite his size and potential, he has not yet recorded a point in 13 career NHL games.
