The Ottawa Senators have secured defenseman Jordan Spence from the Los Angeles Kings in a recent trade. In return, the Senators are sending a third-round pick in 2025 and a sixth-round pick in 2026 (from Colorado) to the Kings. Spence, 24, had a productive season with 28 points, including four goals and 24 assists, while maintaining a plus-23 rating over 79 games in the 2024-25 season.

This acquisition comes as Spence enters the final year of his two-year contract, which carries an annual average value of $1.5 million. Drafted in the fourth round of the 2019 NHL Draft, Spence has accumulated 61 points (eight goals and 53 assists) in 180 career games. The Senators aim to bolster their defensive lineup with Spence's talent and experience.
