Gatcomb, 25, made a notable impact last season, netting eight goals and one assist in 39 NHL appearances. His performance also included 35 games in the AHL with Bridgeport, where he accumulated 17 points, showcasing his offensive skills.

Rising through the ranks, Gatcomb made his NHL debut in January 2025, scoring his first goal shortly after against the Philadelphia Flyers. With a background at the University of Connecticut, where he served as an assistant captain, his four years in college hockey saw him score 46 points. The Islanders hope Gatcomb will continue to develop and contribute significantly in the upcoming season.
