The Flyers have signed him to a two-year contract that will see him playing on an active roster bolstered by the absence of several injured players.

With the Flyers' defensive pairings struggling lately, particularly Travis Sanheim after being separated from Cam York, Ginning's arrival could provide a necessary boost. Coach John Tortorella may choose to pair Ginning with either Jamie Drysdale or Rasmus Ristolainen, setting up a more stable defensive structure. However, Ginning's calling might not sit well with fans who favored Emil Andrae, who performed admirably earlier in the season.
