The Tampa Bay Lightning have placed Conor Sheary on unconditional waivers with the intent of terminating his contract. Sheary's tenure with the Lightning has been limited to just five games due to salary cap constraints, forcing him to spend most of last season in the minors. The veteran forward, who has one year remaining on his contract at $2 million, previously enjoyed success with the Pittsburgh Penguins, winning two Stanley Cups in his first two seasons.

Meanwhile, the Seattle Kraken have also placed Joe Veleno on unconditional waivers to buy out the final year of his contract worth $2.275 million. Veleno, who was recently acquired from Detroit, has amassed 38 goals and 81 points in 306 NHL games. Both players could become unrestricted free agents if unclaimed.
