The Utah Hockey Club, alongside the NBA's Utah Jazz, has unveiled ambitious renovation plans for their downtown Salt Lake City arena, aiming to elevate the fan experience significantly. The upgrades will increase hockey capacity to around 17,000 and basketball to nearly 19,000 seats. The initial renovation phase will see an addition of 1,400 full-ice view seats, improving the sightlines for lower bowl hockey fans, as noted by Jazz president Jim Olson. The arena will undergo significant structural changes, including raising the floor and lengthening the bowl to accommodate both sports effectively.

The renovations, spanning over three summers, aim to correct the existing geometric issues that hinder visibility for ice hockey in a venue designed primarily for basketball. To ensure that both sports are catered to, a retractable seating system will also be implemented. The Utah Hockey Club, temporarily named since relocating from Arizona, is also set to announce a permanent team name ahead of the 2025-2026 NHL season.
