The Washington Capitals have placed defenseman Jakob Chychrun on injured reserve due to a lower-body injury, recalling Vincent Iorio from the AHL’s Hershey Bears. Chychrun's injury occurred during a recent game against the New York Rangers, and he will miss at least seven days.

Meanwhile, Iorio, who has shown promise in the AHL, will join the lineup as the Capitals prepare for back-to-back games against the Columbus Blue Jackets and Carolina Hurricanes.

The Cleveland Monsters faced a tough defeat against the Hershey Bears, losing 7-3 in a game held at Giant Center. The Bears took an early lead with Vincent Iorio scoring first.

Despite a brief comeback from the Monsters, who took a 2-1 lead thanks to goals from Rocco Grimaldi and Roman Ahcan, the Bears responded quickly and dominated the remainder of the match.

Ethen Frank was a standout performer for Hershey, scoring three goals, including two on the power play.
