The Boston Red Sox have made a significant trade, acquiring catcher Carlos Narváez from the New York Yankees. In return, Boston sends minor league pitcher Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz and some international signing bonus pool money to New York.
This move comes after the Red Sox traded top catching prospect Kyle Teel to the Chicago White Sox for All-Star pitcher Garrett Crochet. Narváez, who debuted with the Yankees, has shown promise in the minors.
To accommodate Narváez on the roster, Boston designated second baseman Enmanuel Valdez for assignment.
