Yasmani Grandal has decided to remain with the Boston Red Sox's Triple-A affiliate, the Worcester WooSox, despite having an opt-out option in his contract. The 36-year-old catcher joined the Red Sox on April 13, following Connor Wong's injury, and has since appeared in seven games, batting .250 with a home run and three doubles.

Grandal expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity, having long viewed the Red Sox as a desirable destination, and he appreciates the chance to mentor rising prospects like Marcelo Mayer.
