Matt Vierling has officially returned to the Detroit Tigers roster after recovering from a right shoulder strain that sidelined him for 51 games. Although he did not start in the lineup against the Cleveland Guardians, his presence as a pinch-hitter is expected to bolster the team. Vierling has shown versatility, capable of playing both outfield and third base, with a strong performance in the 2024 season, hitting .257 with 16 home runs.

To make room, the Tigers optioned left-handed reliever Sean Guenther to Triple-A Toledo. With Casey Mize set to return for a start, the team will likely face another roster adjustment soon.
