The Boston Red Sox have signed left-handed pitcher Patrick Sandoval to a two-year deal, despite his ongoing recovery from elbow ligament surgery. The 28-year-old had a challenging season with the Los Angeles Angels, recording a 2-8 record and a 5.08 ERA in 16 starts before undergoing surgery for a torn UCL.
Sandoval's recovery is expected to take at least a year. Over his six seasons in Major League Baseball, he has a career record of 19-45 and a 4.01 ERA. Notably, he represented Mexico in the 2023 World Baseball Classic, earning a spot on the All-WBC team.
