Tim Anderson, a two-time All-Star shortstop, has signed a minor league contract with the Los Angeles Angels, aiming to rejuvenate his career in spring training. Anderson, 31, who previously played for the Chicago White Sox and briefly for the Miami Marlins, faced a career low in 2023, batting just .214 with only one home run in 234 at-bats. His previous team, the White Sox, declined a $14 million option after a disappointing season following his AL batting title win in 2019. With the Angels, Anderson joins Connor Brogdon, Dakota Hudson, Victor González, and Carter Kieboom, also inked to minor league contracts.
