Keion Brooks Jr. has signed a two-way contract with the New Orleans Pelicans, providing the team with much-needed reinforcements amid a challenging season. The former University of Washington player excelled in the G League with the Birmingham Squadron, averaging 18 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists over 20 games. His arrival comes at a crucial time for the Pelicans, who face a series of injuries among key players, including Zion Williamson and Dejounte Murray.
With a current record of 7-31, the Pelicans are struggling, sitting second-to-last in the NBA. Brooks, a talented 6-foot-7 forward from Indiana, went undrafted after stints at Kentucky and Washington. His contract allows for a flexible arrangement, where he can be assigned to the G League or the Pelicans for up to 50 games before a permanent decision must be made.
