Thorne's collegiate career spanned three seasons at Michigan State, where he threw for nearly 6,500 yards and set a school record with 27 touchdown passes during the 2021 Peach Bowl season. After transferring to Auburn, he continued as a starter, amassing 4,468 yards and 37 touchdowns over two seasons.
