John Cominsky, a former fourth-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons, has officially announced his retirement from the NFL after a five-season career. The 29-year-old defensive lineman shared the news on social media, citing a combination of injuries that have affected his ability to continue playing.

Cominsky was drafted by the Falcons in 2019 and played three seasons with the team, making 27 appearances and recording 1.5 sacks. He later joined the Detroit Lions, where he achieved a career-high of four sacks in 2022. However, he missed the entire 2024 season due to a knee injury. In his retirement post, he expressed gratitude to the Falcons for believing in him and giving him the opportunity to play in the NFL.
