The Detroit Lions continue to bolster their roster ahead of training camp with the addition of rookie cornerback Tyson Russell. A product of Vanderbilt, Russell went undrafted but impressed during the Lions' rookie minicamp in May, leading to his signing. At 5-9 and 184 pounds, he clocked a 4.47-second 40-yard dash at his pro day and has experience playing primarily on the outside in a pressure defense, also contributing significantly on special teams. Russell's addition fills the spot left by Stantley Thomas-Oliver, who was placed on the PUP list to begin camp.
