The Chiefs had to make some tough decisions about holding onto players in the wake of their second straight Super Bowl title. Defensive tackle Chris Jones signed a new contract, but cornerback L’Jarius Sneed was traded to the Titans after being franchise tagged.

Chiefs need to adjust their approach this season without Sneed, relying on 2022 first-round pick Trent McDuffie. McDuffie, along with fellow 2022 picks Joshua Williams and Jaylen Watson, will take on more prominent roles and help develop young corners like Kamal Hadden, Nazeeh Johnson, and Nic Jones.
