The Pittsburgh Steelers are facing a significant change in their offensive line with the departure of starting left tackle Dan Moore Jr. to the Tennessee Titans in free agency. In response to this loss, the Steelers have decided to shift Broderick Jones, the starting right tackle from last season, over to left tackle. Jones, a former No. 14 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, expressed confidence in his ability to adapt, stating, “I think it went as good as it could go.” However, he acknowledged the need for additional practice to fully acclimate to the left side before training camp starts.

Jones has proven himself valuable, having allowed 30 pressures and five sacks last season. Despite struggling with 45 pressures and 11 sacks in his latter games filling in for an injured teammate, his experience positions him favorably for this transition. Jones noted the mental adjustment required to flip plays from right tackle to left, emphasizing the importance of being mentally prepared to execute plays efficiently. Meanwhile, other players like Alex Highsmith and Nick Herbig will continue to challenge him during practice.
