The Cleveland Guardians have strengthened their roster after trading center fielder Myles Straw to the Toronto Blue Jays. This transaction comes after the Guardians previously dealt Andrés Giménez and Nick Sandlin to Toronto, marking a busy offseason for both franchises.
The trade involves cash considerations and international bonus signing pool space. Cleveland will send $1 million to the Blue Jays in both 2025 and 2026, along with an additional $1.75 million at the end of 2026 and $2 million in signing bonus pool space.
Straw, a former Gold Glove winner, struggled in 2024, spending significant time with the Triple-A Columbus Clippers and posting a .240 average over 123 games. He had a brief stint with the Guardians in September, where he accumulated two stolen bases in limited play.
