Spencer Arrighetti is set to rejoin the Houston Astros' rotation after a four-month absence due to a fractured thumb. Manager Joe Espada confirmed that Arrighetti will be activated for one of the games in the upcoming series against the Miami Marlins. He previously made two starts this season and exhibited a 4.53 ERA in his rookie year. With several other starters also on the mend, Arrighetti's return is timely as the Astros aim to strengthen their rotation.

Jason Alexander will kick off the series for Houston, with Arrighetti expected to pitch soon after. The Astros are also monitoring the recoveries of Cristian Javier, Luis Garcia, and J.P. France, who are all currently on rehab assignments. Meanwhile, Lance McCullers Jr. is eligible to return but may need additional time for recovery, as he deals with a finger blister. Arrighetti’s return adds depth to an Astros rotation already featuring Framber Valdez and Hunter Brown.
