At 28 years old, Sandoval had a challenging season with the Los Angeles Angels, finishing with a 2-8 record and a 5.08 ERA across 16 starts. His injury occurred during a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, leading to a significant surgery with a lengthy recovery period ahead.

Throughout his six seasons in the majors, all with the Angels, Sandoval has compiled a record of 19-45 and a 4.01 ERA, while also representing Mexico in the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
