The Springfield Lucky Horseshoes are gearing up for a historic season as they kick off the 2025 baseball season on May 27, celebrating the 100th anniversary of Robin Roberts Stadium. The first pitch against the Normal Cornbelters is set for 6:30 p.m., with gates opening an hour earlier. Fans can enjoy $1 tickets at the box office to commemorate this milestone.

Robin Roberts Stadium, formerly known as Reservoir Park, has a rich history that includes hosting Major League Baseball Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis for its inaugural pitch in 1925. Over the years, the stadium has been home to several minor league teams, including the St. Louis Cardinals' AAA affiliate and the Kansas City Royals' Class A affiliate.

Jamie Toole, co-owner of the Lucky Horseshoes, emphasized the significance of baseball's historical connection, stating that few things last over a century. The team is dedicated to enhancing the stadium experience with new amenities, including a craft beer cove and a full-service bar, ensuring a fun-filled atmosphere for the community throughout the commemorative season.
