Packers call up recently-signed practice squadder to gameday roster | Acme Packing Company

Green Bay activates Lecitus Smith from the practice squad for Sunday Night against Dallas as Week 4 injuries thin the offensive line. With Zach Tom, Anthony Belton, and likely Aaron Banks out or doubtful, the Packers may run with seven healthy blockers and lean on Smith as an eighth lineman. The projected starting five is Rasheed Walker, Jordan Morgan, Elgton Jenkins, Sean Rhyan, Darian Kinnard, while Donovan Jennings, Brant Banks, and Smith provide depth. This upgrade also strains the field-goal protection unit, possibly shaping both fantasy output and in-game strategy.

With the Packers' line depth thin, should fantasy players target Packers offensive players more aggressively this week?Should DFS lineups leverage Packers backs more if Banks and Tom are out?Do the Packers' line injuries elevate the value of Kraft or other tight ends in Week 4?What is the most likely outcome for Week 4 field-goal protection given the injuries?

Packers won't have rookie RT Anthony Belton vs. Cowboys due to ankle injury

Week 4 injury stress hits the Green Bay offensive line as Anthony Belton joins Zach Tom on the sideline, leaving the Packers with a patched depth chart for a Dallas clash. Belton’s ankle injury removes a trusted RT option after three games, while Tom’s oblique issue and Aaron Banks’ groin doubt compound the problem. If Belton, Tom, and Banks are unavailable, Green Bay will pivot to Rasheed Walker at left tackle, Jordan Morgan at left guard, Elgton Jenkins at center, Sean Rhyan at right guard, and Darian Kinnard at right tackle, with Morgan having flashed at RT earlier. LaFleur reiterated, “Next man up,” signaling a shuffle-heavy plan against a Cowboys front that can pressure. The Packers expanded their practice squad with Brant Banks and Lecitus Smith to bolster depth, while John Williams and Jacob Monk open the season on PUP and Travis Glover is IR.

Given the Week 4 OL upheaval, which Packers players are most likely to see a surge in fantasy value? How do the Packers best protect Love against Dallas’ edge pressure with Belton and Tom out?Which Cowboys defenders pose the biggest challenge to Green Bay’s reshuffled line in Week 4?What is the best post-injury fantasy plan for Packers’ RBs and WRs in Week 4?

Four Packers in need of a bounce-back performance vs. Colts

Green Bay heads to Lucas Oil Stadium for a second preseason test, aiming to rebound from a 30-10 opener loss to the Jets. The focus centers on four Packers players who need a strong follow-up against Indianapolis to shore up the roster odds and reset momentum for 2025. The group includes Jacob Monk, Mecole Hardman, Malik Heath, and Isaiah Simmons, each facing different roster pressures but all needing clearer demonstrations of value as the Colts challenge a still-developing Green Bay attack.

Monk must show improvement at center/guard to solidify his versatile role behind Jenkins and Rhyan. Hardman must excel as a returner and prove he can contribute as a receiver after limited targets. Heath needs to capitalize with multiple receivers down, while Simmons must elevate his play in run support and coverage to stay in the LB mix. Jordan Love’s game-day consistency and the offense’s overall cohesion loom large as personnel shakeout continues.

The Jets game backdrop and the Colts test frame the Packers’ week-two progression, with the coaching staff emphasizing reliable interior line play, hands-secure receivers, and a linebacking corps that needs clarity. Fans and fantasy players will watch how these bets unfold, especially in a game where roster moves and depth will be decided amid a crowded camp battle.

What fantasy implications arise from the Packers' bounce-back focus on Monk, Hardman, Heath, and Simmons against the Colts?Which player, if any, has the clearest path to step into a larger role by Week 3, and why?How should managers adjust expectation for Simmons if Hopper and Welch continue to perform well? What coaching cues should fantasy players monitor from the Packers' Week 2 game plan against the Colts?

Packers' secondary missing 3 starters against Spencer Rattler and the Saints

In a matchup against the Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler took the helm in his fourth career start, filling in for the injured Derek Carr. The Saints were also missing key players, including Pro Bowl running back Alvin Kamara and wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

On the Packers' side, their secondary faced significant challenges, missing three starters, including cornerback Jaire Alexander. Despite his return to practice, Alexander has yet to play, marking his fifth consecutive absence. The Packers' offense did see the return of tight end Luke Musgrave from injured reserve, though he has struggled this season.

How has Spencer Rattler's performance evolved since his first start? What impact do injuries have on a team's overall performance in the NFL?How do the Packers plan to adjust their defense with multiple key players missing? What strategies can the Saints employ to compensate for the absence of Alvin Kamara?
