On Saturday night, Salesian High School in Boyle Heights celebrated its annual gala filled with mariachi music, flowers, and heartfelt moments, all aimed at raising scholarship funds. Among the honorees were NFL players Keisean Nixon of the Green Bay Packers and Deommodore Lenoir of the San Francisco 49ers, both members of the school's 2013 championship team, who received the Golden Mustang award.

Nixon reflected on his time at Salesian, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and the supportive community that helped shape his journey as an athlete. With high school baseball playoffs looming, the gala not only highlighted past achievements but also served to inspire future generations of athletes.
